Snoop Dogg x 19 Crimes Launch
Celebrating redemption with 19 Crimes Cali Red with a larger-than-life Snoop Dogg art installation. We were hand picked by Ashley McKenzie Barnes, an accomplished art curator from Toronto in conjunction with CRAFT, the PR agency to do the Canadian launch in Vancouver for Snoop Dogg’s Cali Red wine by 19 Crimes.

Behind the scenes video of our Snoop Dogg x 19 Crimes collab
Beautifully shot and directed by Hubert Kang of Kindred and Scout. Edited by Mike Southworth and Raffy Espiritu. Music by Paul Chin and Mike Southworth. Produced by Amy Jones.
Communication Arts and multiple Applied Arts winner 2020-2021.
7' tall art sculpture.
True to Snoop Dogg's height, the statue stands 6'4" tall in addition, our custom designed cork pedestal puts the overall height of the sculpture at 7’ tall.
MTN Street ink used to freehand the art on Snoop's body.
Hand-painted. Unscripted. A blank canvas glittering in gold paint and when that first brush dabbed in a mixture of Cali Red wine and MTN street ink made its first contact with the statue, I had a rush knowing I could fill this space with one stroke of ink at a time. Each stroke leads to another visual in my head.
This is what I love about freestyle illustration. If a mistake was made, I would recover with a series of other strokes until it was corrected instead of erasing as it wasn't an option.
The thrill of letting it all happen with improvisation and intuition makes creating art much more enjoyable and raw.
Freehand and freestyle illustration work.
The initial 3D rendering was done by hand with pencil and paper due to our limited access to Snoop Dogg himself. The artwork on Snoop Dogg’s Larger-than-life sculpture was done freestyle and illustrated freehand on location by Carson Ting using a brush and Montana street inks mixed with the 19 Crimes Cali Red.
Snoop Uncorked, 2020.
Hand-carved styrofoam, cork roll, spray paint, paint mixed with Cali Red wine. This original installation has been commissioned in celebration of Snoop Dogg’s new partnership with 19 Crimes wine.
Painted and assembled at Tangible Studios in East Vancouver.
Coating with gold paint.
Using MTN Hardcore Metal Gold paint.
Crowning of the custom neon sign on Snoop.
Up-close and personal shot of the Snoop sculpture's hand painted art.
early 3D rendering with zBrush.
The initial sketch
Because of the limited access of Snoop Dogg himself, I had to sketch him out from all four angles prior to bringing our friends from Gamomo Creative Lab on board to help build out the artwork in 3D. Once we had the art file, we Brought it over to the fine folks at 3D Foam for the final physical build.
Snoop unassembled.
A shot before the assembly at 3D Foam studios in Burnaby, Vancouver.
Coating Snoop Dogg with Montana Hardcore 'gold'.
