Our Local Connections

Given the state of current politics and the growing demands from consumers for transparency and social responsibility from brands, the companies of today are not only expected to have good products but also to be genuine, responsible, and fair in every decision made.

We love the concept of Hershey's collaboration with the NBA to add colour and fun to communities in Vancouver and would love to assist you in not only the artistic aspect but to connect your team with members of our community to ensure that the people of Vancouver East Side and/or Surrey get the most out of this project. Below, we have pieced together a transparent estimate that allows you to see our full capabilities while allowing you to pick and choose what you need for this project.

Past Relevant Work

Given his extensive career in advertising, Carson has worked on many projects related to the world of basketball such as Nike Jordan #RiseAbove, the Air Jordan 2012 site, and a collaboration with Sport Chek’s #MyNorth to highlight the basketball culture in Toronto. Carson also recently completed a piece for Snoop Dogg’s 2020 release of his cali-red wine in collaboration with 19 Crimes wines.

Hubert Kang

Hubert Kang is a director, photographer, and co-founder of Kindred and Scout Productions. His past clients include Lululemon, Nike, Snoop Dogg’s 19 Crimes Wine, World Vision, and Fairmont Hotels and Resorts.

One relevant project in Hubert’s extensive portfolio is his fundraising efforts with Ugandan youth baseball team the Tugende Baseballers–the first African team to quality for the little league world series. For this project, Hubert travelled to Uganda to document their journey, teach coaches how to film and edit videos of their players for perspective scouters, and help raise over $140,000 for the team to expand and continue their baseball efforts.

Hubert also has connections and experience documenting the Downtown East Side Indigenous community where basketball thrives as a passion for many.

 
 

Leah Gregg

Leah Gregg is a digital strategist and a champion for positivity. Her extensive background in advertising and work with non-profits gives her a perspective on how to collaborate with communities meaningfully while maximizing engagement.

Her past work includes working with the Starlight Children’s Foundation to redesign hospital gowns, working with Molson Canadian to create their famous beer fridge, and hosting Shaw’s Dinner Debates featuring Emmy winner Annie Murphy and comedy star Andrew Phung.

Leah’s diverse background in strategy, community engagement, and all-star positivity make her the perfect candidate to contribute to this project in front and behind the camera. Her content strategy for social campaigns has been recognized as best-in-class by the Facebook Studio Awards, Mashable’s Mashies, the Shorty Awards, and featured in case studies by Twitter.

The Estimate Break Down

STUDIO FEE +$1,000
Covers essential studio costs like administration, decks, and logistics required for the project.

IDEATION: CREATING THE BLUE PRINT +$3,750
The ideation process is where rough concept sketches are created for approvals prior to final art illustration. In this phase, we will explore art direction, illustration style and more importantly, the concept; which will lead to the creation of what we will be illustrating. We call this the blue print.

CREATIVE PRODUCTION: ILLUSTRATION +$12,000
Hand paint using only premium outdoor paints from Dulux and or Sherwin-Williams.

PAINTING ASSISTANT(S) +$3,000
Experienced mural painting assistant(s) to help expedite the process.

PRODUCTION MATERIALS +$2,500
Premium grade quality paints, markers, supplies, and any other materials required for the project. Equipment rentals for scaffolding, ladders, van, or any other relevant equipment.

CONTINGENCY COST (10%) +$2,225
*Up to 10% of total cost is estimated as a contingency for this project. Contingency is only charged in the final invoice if it is used. A contingency fee is not included in the final invoice if it was not required/used.

TOTAL (BEFORE TAX) = $24,475*
*Includes $2,225 cost that will ONLY be charged if contingency is required. Additional $2,225 will not be charged on the final invoice if not used.

Extended Services

For estimates, further discussion on deliverables will be needed with the teams.

STILLS AND VIDEO BY HUBERT KANG & KINDRED AND SCOUT TEAM
Project will be documented via video and photographs by Hubert Kang with support from the Kindred and Scout Production team.

DIGITAL STRATEGY AND HOSTING
Strategic assistant and community engagement will be provided by Leah Gregg based on project parameters. If required, Leah can also work as a host if the documentation team with Hubert requires it.
